Don’t you guys just love these all-day studies that we’ve been having recently??? They’re so great!
About a year ago, Dad did one on 2 Peter, I believe… Since then, Mr Eubanks has done the book of John, Gary Fisher has done Jonah, Tim has done the first 15 chapters of 1 Samuel, Mr Bunting has done an overview of Deuteronomy, and now Gary Fisher has done Nehemiah… Did I leave some out?
So good! Studying through a book like that gives us such a better idea of the story, characters, purpose, etc. Now when someone talks about those stories, books, or people, we know so much more about them! We know where to go to learn about these things!
Hope you all have enjoyed the studies as much as I have and that everyone is growing and growing!
Love you all!
i LOVE Canada

last night i took Kelvin Anthony Kevin Genesis and Lucy to Washington for church because they have thursday off school (way to go Jews!) all except for Lucy (sorry Lucy).
It was a blast. Church is fun. When i was growing up i never thought of church being fun. It’s better when you love God more and go with people that you love. I’m a lucky dude.

for serious. i second all that Anthony said. i was also lucky enough to spend time with the Ferencze’s this weekend. Emily is a good friend to have around.
Also, i had a blast at your house Genesis! She is the coolest ever. I just love seeing my kids take steps to grow spiritually grow and help others grow. too bad she can’t drive.
The only thing that will make this moment better is a tomato sandwich. i think i’ll go make one.
school and God
i decided to write a new post, Enjoy= We all know that school is important, and God is important as well. We should all try to balance school, reading the Bible, and going to church so it’ll all work out. We get to do good in school and also learn a lil more at church, which is awesome! I thank God for giving me my school and the awesome bible teachers i know (tim, gardner, roger, etc.) i hope that throughout the school year i can balance everything out,get good grades on my test, and be able to worship God. Man,being an 8th grader is tough. I wonder what high school will be like????
thanks for reading.God Bless,
Anthony

Have a safe trip all you Pittsburgh kids! Be safe. Thanks for the “www.HermanoTim.com” plug Emily.
Man, not being selfish is sooo hard. Sometimes I can’t even tell if I’m being selfish or not. It’s funny how sometimes even being overly nice to someone can be selfish. I’m excited for the day when i can treat someone as good as I want; when I can never say too many nice things to that person. I guess that’s what kids are for. You can never show enough love to your kids, right? Hmmm, maybe I should tell my mom that I love her? Ah…she knows.
Love You Guys!

This summer has been so amazing and I am constantly thanking God for all of the blessings he has showered on us. I was so sad to leave everyone up here last August when I went down to Florida, and I prayed for you all so much while I was in gone. And, not that I doubted God’s power to work in the lives of everyone up here, but I have been completely blown away by the extent to which God has answered my prayers (and the prayers of everyone else!).
I don’t know that this area of the Northeast has ever seen so many kids all striving to serve the Lord. I have been so impressed with the changes I have seen in the way that some of you think about God and what you focus your time on. You are a huge encouragement to me and I am anxious to see what other good things can be accomplished for the Lord’s sake.
Now, I know that its been summer time… and everyone has been out of school so its been easier to focus our time on God and studying His word. But, summers can’t last forever, and before we know it school is going to be back in full swing. My challenge to you is to not let that detract from your spiritual focus. Keep your eyes on God, and even if you can’t go to as many Bible studies with your friends or be around Christians as much, don’t let that cause you to stumble. Pursue God wholeheartedly. I have been so encouraged by you guys who have taken the initiative to read your Bibles on your own… keep up with that! Set goals for yourself to read and pray everyday.
Also, when you are back at school, don’t forget who you are. We have had so many people put on the name of Christ this summer… Don’t be afraid to let other people know who you are! (Lk 9:26) Your standards and the way that you serve God should not change depending on your environment - whether you are at home, school, church, with Christian/non-Christian friends, or at a Bible study.
I know that it can be tough… and it can be frightening. One verse that helps me is Revelation 21:6-8 where it says, “He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life. 7He who overcomes will inherit all this, and I will be his God and he will be my son. 8But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.” It is SO easy to be cowardly… or to be fearful… I think we often dismiss that and think its okay to be that way, but its really a tool of Satan. So, be on guard! Don’t let him distract you from serving God because your friends at school are intimidating or because you have people that discourage you and make obeying God difficult.
Anyway, keep up with the good work guys!!! I love you all sooo much and as I thess 1:2 would say, I always thank my God for all of you, remembering you in my prayers. =)

Man! What a couple of days, huh?
Carlos got baptized on Sat. Abby got baptized on Sun. Jillian got baptized on Mon (I think it was after midnight), and Bill got baptized on Tues!
Let’s see if we can keep this streak up? Who’s next.
I’m real proud of all these young people to make such an important decision, especially Carlos and Bill. I’ve been with them for their entire spiritual life. It’s so rewarding to see them grow. They’ve helped me so much too. Let’s keep it up year round!
I Love Everyone!

Anthony’s last post.
You know…smiles and Bibles are such great things. We should combine them into one…
We could call it a…
SMIBLE
what do you think?
I hope this makes some sense…
I would like to take a closer look at the first and second chapters of Judges. I started reading through this book, and although I am not movvery fast, I am gaining a lot.
Judges 1:27-35
27 However, Manasseh did not drive out the inhabitants of Beth Shean and its villages, or Taanach and its villages, or the inhabitants of Dor and its villages, or the inhabitants of Ibleam and its villages, or the inhabitants of Megiddo and its villages; for the Canaanites were determined to dwell in that land.
28 And it came to pass, when Israel was strong, that they put the Canaanites under tribute, but did not completely drive them out.
29 Nor did Ephraim drive out the Canaanites who dwelt in Gezer; so the Canaanites dwelt in Gezer among them.
30 Nor did Zebulun drive out the inhabitants of Kitron or the inhabitants of Nahalol; so the Canaanites dwelt among them, and were put under tribute.
31 Nor did Asher drive out the inhabitants of Acco or the inhabitants of Sidon, or of Ahlab, Achzib, Helbah, Aphik, or Rehob.
32 So the Asherites dwelt among the Canaanites, the inhabitants of the land; for they did not drive them out.
33 Nor did Naphtali drive out the inhabitants of Beth Shemesh or the inhabitants of Beth Anath; but they dwelt among the Canaanites, the inhabitants of the land. Nevertheless the inhabitants of Beth Shemesh and Beth Anath were put under tribute to them.
34 And the Amorites forced the children of Dan into the mountains, for they would not allow them to come down to the valley;
35 and the Amorites were determined to dwell in Mount Heres, in Aijalon, and in Shaalbim; yet when the strength of the house of Joseph became greater, they were put under tribute.Judges 2:2
2 “And you shall make no covenant with the inhabitants of this land; you shall tear down their altars.’ But you have not obeyed My voice. Why have you done this?”It looks to me like the people of the land, were more ‘detirmined’ to live in the land, then the Israelists were to obey and trust in their God.11 “Then the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD, and served the Baals; 12 and they forsook the LORD God of their fathers, who had brought them out of the land of Egypt; and they followed other gods from among the gods of the people who were all around them, and they bowed down to them; and they provoked the LORD to anger. 13 They forsook the LORD and served Baal and the Ashtoreths.”
In chapter one we see that the children of the land didn’t completely drive out everyone as God had commanded.
Doesn’t it seem that since they didn’t take any action toward obeying God, they ended up taking action(s) the other way, from God.
So in Judges 2:11-13 I think that we see where this took them.
So I was thinking to myself, how true this still is today. I mean, we should ask ourselves if we are more determined to serve God, than the world is to disobey him. Also, are we taking action toward God, reading our Bibles, praying, etc. ? Or will we too end up drifting to those around us and end up giving into the temptations that we weren’t detirmined to get rid of.
Well, I hope that this hasn’t been too confusing. Sometimes I just get going and it totally makes sense to me, but everyone else is so lost. These verses helped me a lot & I hope that they will help you too.
Stay Strong!
